First of all...97 million votes??? Wow! One David got 56% of the votes and the other 44%. I guess that's close...kind of. That is millions of votes so someone REALLY won it quite easily.
I loved how they visited home towns and for David Cook Mikala Gordon was the host and it was all about how David Cook rocked and then they went to Utah where Matt Rogers (he is a great host and was from a previous season) was the host and it was like 3 octaves higher of screams from all the little tweeners!!!!
Next they did a Top 12 group perfromance all in white. Nice.
Then the David's performed together and it was MOLTON LAVA HOT as Randy would say. They sang "Hero" by Nickelback and they sound GREAT together.
Next David and David met "The Love Guru", Mike Myer's. That was pretty funny. Totally a shameless movie plug but hey! Who doesn't love Mike Myer's. Plus Ryan got on the "magic carpet" and almost drove off the stage so that was pretty pricless.
After the shameless movie plue Syesha performed...WITH SEAL!!!!!!!!!! How hot is that???? She was kind of "off" but who cares! She got to sing with Seal!
Then my Idol boyfriend got to sing "Hallelujah" again and of course he was amazing. Love him love him love him!!!!!
More filler was next with a montage of their Ford commercials. Then the David's were each given an Escape Hybrid!!! Oh how sweet was that!!! After that the Top 6 girls sang a Donna Summers Medley and they looked FABULOUS and sounded so good together. It makes me want to go to the Idol tour even more!!! Then Donna Summers debuted her new single with a blingin' microphone in hand and the girls as her back-up singers. Well, Donna still had it vocally!
Oh man...this is going to take forever to get to the results! Now Carly and Michael Johns sang "Letter". They were great. I'm just getting antsy now.
Jimmy Kimmel took the stage to review the season and poke fun at everyone even with a montage of Simon's mean comments set to music. After that the Top 6 guys took the stage to sing "Summer of 69" and other Brian Adams songs. Michael Johns kicked it off and was hot, hot, hot!! Ohhhhh, I'm lovin' it. The guys sound great together. Then it was Brian Adams!!!!!!!!!! Oh us ladies of the 80's are swooning. My junior prom was totally Brian Adams theme!!!!! You know, "Everything I do, I do It For You". Sigh. The guys sang back-up to Mr. Brian and it was great.
Next we saw Jordin Sparks at Walt Disney World talking about the American Idol Experience that is coming in January. Oh my goodness! American Idol is big! Then it was DAVID COOK and ZZ TOP!! How fun is that?????? I bet David Cook was freakin' that he was was playing on stage with ZZ Top. I know I was!!!! I bet some of those kids were like "who the heck is ZZ Top?".
Graham Nash and Brooke White sang next the song "Teach Your Children". What a perfect duet for her!! They sounded amazing together.
OKAY, MY COMPUTER JUST CRASHED!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHORT VERSION NOW....
Jonas Brothers performed and were awesome!
One Republic sang "Apologize" and David Archuleta joined them and they were fantastic.
Jordin Sparks sang and was really good. Her song reminded me of something Kat McPhee would sing.
Gladys Knight footage from the 70's had the "Pips" in the background and it was Jack Black, Ben Stiller, and Robert Downey, Jr. That was pretty funny. I love those guys...can't wait until "Tropic Thunder" comes out.
HOORAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY! It's Carrie Underwood singing for us! She looked totally foxy hot in her white short trench with those legs that go on forever!!! Dang girl! The dress was just long enough to not show her special somethin's. She has the best legs...I am so jealous. I was actually very proud of her for showing personality on the stage and moving around and working it!
Finally the Top 12 performed one last time a little George Michael...will he be a special guest performer tonight?? I bet! Oh little Archie looked good in a black suit and tie!!! They all looked good. AHHHH, I was right! George Michael did take the stage!!!! Paula was workin' it and then when George sang his ballad "Praying for Time" Paula cried. He is still a super star that's for sure! That song is timeless!!
Now it's time to find out who WON IT ALL!!!!!
Simon apologized to David Cook! Loved that!!!! He said he was verging on disrespect and it really was too close to call.
AND THEN MY TIVO TURNED OFF SO SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED NEXT!!!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT MY TIVO DIDN'T RECORD THE LAST 5 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, it's okay now...I youtubed it. I got my fix of David's moment and listened to him sing.
